Betty C - Repeat Donor and Cardinal Scholarship Founder

I had the privilege of meeting Leslie several years ago at a very difficult time in my life. My husband had passed, and I was downsizing after moving from our home of 30 years. I had so much furniture, dishes etc. to hopefully pass on to a needy family. Little did she know how much she helped me with dealing with my loss by being able to help others.

I learned that Leslie is one of those RARE people that has it in her heart to truly help those in need in so many ways. She lives it from her heart every day. Giving and helping people in need is her passion. I have never met anyone like her with such dedication. I know firsthand that she helps with every aspect of what a person would need, if she can’t provide what is needed, she knows the resources that can. From baby supplies to the elderly, she provides, encourages, and listens to their needs. It doesn’t stop there; she will follow up with people to see how they are doing and if there is anything else that they need. She stays connected, encourages, shows them the positive things in life. They know they are important to her. Many of the people in turn have also helped by paying it forward in whatever way they could, showing how appreciative they are to receive help when they needed it. That is showing what an impact she has in their lives, inspiring others to do the same when and however they can.

Her goals are not limited to just materialistic items, she has a strong desire to help with the educational goals be they adults or graduating/college kids through scholarships when meeting criteria. Many would have a more difficult time with tuition. Every little scholarship helps a student reach their goals; they are everyone’s future.

I feel very confident in helping/donating to Community Helping Hands, Inc.. I know that anything, be it materialistic or financial, is going to go where it is needed. Leslie knows the needs within our community and is always there to do the best that she can do. She is dependent on donations. I feel honored to be able to help when I can and her transparency with donations is what encourages me to continue to give to Community Helping Hands, Inc.. I also have set-up an annual scholarship through her organization and participate with her scholarship committee to allocate these scholarships to the ideal recipients.

As I said before, I am privileged and blessed to know Leslie. She truly is one of a kind. Hopefully I will be able to continue to do my part to support this organization in any way possible, as I hope others will as well.

Thank you just does not seem like enough for all that Leslie does.

She truly is one in a million.

Hurricane Ian

How Can You Help?

October/November 2022

Our area was completely ravaged by Hurricane Ian on September 28, 2022.
So many of our hardest hit areas are the neighborhoods that are already struggling.
There are so many ways that you can help us help them.

IMG_6094.jpg

Over the last 10 days I seem to find myself at Dollar Tree almost daily.

I give out carloads of supplies every single day.

The majority of the most requested items can be found for $1.25.

That said - every little bit helps!

$5 is a case of water for a large family.

$10 is a case of bleach and other cleaning supplies for a household.

$15-$20 is all of the above.

We all know this will be a long road to recovery and rebuilding for so many, but just the basics at this point is enough to make these families feel like they are taking back control in trying to clean up and salvage what they can.

Every single penny counts and is appreciated!
